The Barn was beautiful; a very impressive building. I like the fact that the door has been enclosed by a glass entry way so that there is no draught and the room was nice and warm.

It was great value for money - had the £9.99 2 course menu, plus dessert, a drink and a latte... came to £57 for 3 of us.

Food took FOREVER to arrive, starter to main course was 50 minutes, and then the food was cold ( for everyone ) food was returned and re-arrived after a further 25 minutes, it was reasonably busy but other tables that had arrived far later were completing their meal before our mains had arrived. No appology before we left, was a shame as it was our first visit.

Many of my family had flown in especially for the occasion and were certainly not disappointed with the service or the food. It was everything that my husband i had come to expect from The Barn - fresh vibrant food, excellent service with more than a touch of class but all wrapped up in friendly overtones! 4/5 so pleased our daughter had a fantastic selection as she is a coeliac & the menu was so clearly marked for 'gluten free' dishes

Christmas set menu of just three choices per course was too limited - the starter I had came up cold (the mushrooms) and the noodles were inedible. Main course (Salmon) was very nice. Desert (Creme Brule) likewise very nice. Staff were lovely.

Would've love to award the barn with 5 stars,but if waiters forget simple stuff like drinks,sugar and to bring the bill after being asked twice,full points can't be awarded to what i think is to be considered a real gem of a place!
